Dr. Amy Cromer’s affiliation with Valley West Animal Hospital spans more than three decades. She began as a vet assistant in 1978 and then as a veterinary technician. She returned to the practice in 1999 at the request of her mentors (and original practice owners Dr. Bill Welty and Dr. Jim Machette) and purchased the practice in 1999. Under her leadership, VWAH treats dogs, cats, birds and a variety of small mammals.

Dr. Cromer holds a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Kansas State University and interned with Michigan Veterinary Specialists. She practiced in both Georgia and Florida before returning to her native Arizona to take over the practice at Valley West while doing a short stint at the emergency animal clinic.

Dr. Cromer and her husband, Dr. Chris Simpson, also a veterinarian, have two daughters, Kaziah and Olivia, and a menagerie of animals including dogs, cats, birds, fish, chickens, and a tortoise.
